SC-311  ISO 9001-2008 Internal Auditor Training

 This course meets 2 days starting Thursday, October 15th and concluding Friday, October 16th.

Abstract:

The major objective of the course is to teach the basics of conducting internal audits of Quality Management Systems. This is a 2-day internal auditor training course with special attention given to the use of audits in conjunction with the ISO 9001:2008 international quality standard.  Students will learn how to prepare for, conduct, and report on an internal company quality audit.

Case studies, exercises, and role-play will be used to help the understanding of the class concepts. A home assignment may be required at the end of day 1.

A copy of the ISO 9001:2008 standard will be provided.

Classroom Approach to the Class and Exam

This is an adult centered course for busy professionals.  The class is intended to provide:

• Definitions of process, quality management system, quality audit, etc.
• Overview of the ISO 9001:2008 standard
• Qualifications of successful audits and auditors
• How to prepare for conducting an audit: planning, developing checklists, etc.
• Audit performance: opening meeting, closing meeting, effective interviews, asking questions, etc.
• Reporting audit findings: evaluation of findings, writing non-conformances, etc.
• Follow-up on reported non-conformances

Who should attend:

Managers, Quality Managers, Senior Quality Assurance personnel or any employee who expects to be involved in the company's internal quality audit process.  Companies preparing for or intending to qualify for or transition to ISO 9001:2008 certification are required to provide such training to internal auditors. This course, while providing a good review for experienced auditors, is primarily designed for novice auditors.

Prerequisites:

Students should be familiar with ISO 9001-2008 Guidelines and basic quality concepts.

A continental breakfast, morning and afternoon breaks and lunch are included in the tuition.

This course is available as an ON-SITE presentation, subject to the instructor’s availability.  The only requirement for an on-site course is a minimum enrollment of eight students.  The course content can be customized to fit your unique situation.  The instructor will negotiate on-site training on a case-by-case basis.
